It has been recently revealed by a report that the recent suggestions made by the British Medical Association to the government for the purpose of making changes in the NHS schemes for pension have been rejected by them.
This was revealed after there was a major row seen from the GP front and they were initiating an industrial action, which was for the first time in many years.
It was revealed according to a survey done on 130, 000 medical students and it were revealed after a decision made by the BMA Council meeting, which is the governing body for the association.
As many as 84% of the doctors are of the view that they would be rejecting the proposals. It was about 36% of the doctors who were of the view that aged 50+, if these changes are to be incorporated, they shall retire.
There is need for such changes in the NHS that are viable for the doctors as well as the people of the vicinity. The doctors need to be sure they are given their rights, while the patients need to be sure that they shall be taken care of well.
"The strength and scale of feeling among doctors is abundantly clear - they feel let down and betrayed, and for many this is the final straw. Doctors are at the forefront of attempts to save the NHS £20 billion”, said Dr. Hamish Meldrum, the BMA Council Chairman.
There might’ve been some changes made in the initial offering by the government, but the needs and requirements of the doctors are still not considered well, and there is still need for making such an atmosphere for them, that they function well, without any doubts in their mind.
