As per reports, it has got revealed that an American woman has given birth to a baby boy who weighs 13lbs 13oz and is 23.5ins long. Most astonishing part of the story is that Kendall Stewardson delivered baby without surgery enduring labor pains for six hours.

Asher Stewardson is the baby who is currently in the news for his weight. Kendall, who herself is quite plump revealed that her first son Judah was also 12lbs 1oz at birth. So, it was not something new for her.

However, it was something to amaze at for the staff of Mercy Medical Centre in Des Moines, Iowa, where Asher was born. Doctors told that only a tenth of 1% of new borns weigh more than 11lbs at the time of birth.

On delivering baby without C-sec, Kendall said that she has already decided that she would not go through surgery as she thinks surgeries to be unhealthy for both, mother and child. Kendall said, "So, everyone like double takes when they see him, but for us it's pretty standard and it wasn`t much worse than probably most people's".

As per the National Council of Health Statistics, an average child is somewhere between six and eight pounds. However, those who are born with more or less weight than mentioned require extra medical care.

For now, Asher has been doing well and has not suffered any medical complications. Despite being heavy and big in comparison to other babies, he has not been able to make to the Guinness World Records. As per the records, the heaviest child weighed was 22lbs and 8 oz and was born to a healthy mother in September 1955 in Aversa, Italy.
