Legionnaire Outbreak in Spain’s Hotel

As per reports, it has been revealed that three Britons who were off to Spain for holidays have died after contracting legionnaire's disease at a hotel where they were staying. All the three pensioners were between 73 and 78, and lost their lives at the Diamante Beach hotel.

They are not alone who suffered, but there are other 20 people who were also staying at the hotel and have contracted the disease and are in critical condition. The regional government of Valencia has confirmed the deaths and has affirmed that they have been investigating the matter.

The regional health department has also revealed that they have conducted investigations at the hotel, but they found no breaching of the rules. Even then also they have asked the hotel officials to clean their water system.

They further affirmed that as soon as they got to know about the outbreak at the hotel. They sent their scientific expert team to hotel and asked the guests to vacate their rooms and were being provided room at other place. Not only this, they even contacted other people who have previously stayed at the hotel. Everything was told to them about the disease and was asked to contact their respective GPs for medical tests.

From there, officials got to know that other 20 people have been infected from the disease and they are receiving treatment at hospitals in London. Health authorities have informed that the hotel has been closed for temporary period and would open after complete assessment is being done of plumbing and other necessary details.

The health authorities said, "With the closure we have a guarantee that there will be no more contagion and we can then evaluate the measures taken with the rigour required by the situation".
