The Japanese camera manufacturer Canon on Wednesday rolled out the latest camera in its Rebel DSLR line - the Canon EOS Rebel T1i - the sixth generation camera of its popular entry-level DSLR camera series.

The Canon EOS Rebel T1i features a 15.1 Mega pixel CMOS sensor, Live View, continuous burst-rates of up to 3.4 fps, a DIGIC 4 image processor, a bright, High-resolution 3" Clear View VGA LCD screen, Auto Lighting Optimizer, and Creative Auto Mode. The DIGIC 4 Imaging Processor features 14-bit analog-to-digital conversion and is capable of processing HD video.

The Canon EOS Rebel T1i features Auto Light Stablizer technology to adjust image brightness, Creative Full Auto for auto shooting, and a Self-Cleaning Sensor Unit. The camera features a nine-point Autofocus system and is compatible with Canon's 60-odd EF and EF-S lenses, including the large-aperture EF L-series.

The Canon EOS Rebel T1i is capable of HD video recording. It can capture 1080p at 20 fps. It can shoot up to 4GB per clip--or about 12 minutes in full HD. Clips are captured in .MOV format. The camera has a built-in HDMI output to display videos on an HDTV. It can shoot 3.4 frames per second, up to 170 JPEG images in a single go.

It also offers ISO speed from 100 to 3,200 in whole-stop increments. It is capable to record 720p video. Its 3", 920,000-dot Clear View LCD facilitates composing still and video images.

The Canon EOS Rebel T1i will be available in two configurations, in early May. The camera kit featuring a battery pack and charger, a neckstrap, USB and video cables, software, and a one-year warranty will be available for $799, and the camera kit including a EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens will be available for $899.
