If advancement in time and technology has brought some really good things, then it has also left some negative things. Earlier, diabetes, obesity, and blood pressure were some of the problems which were related to old age. But now scenario has changed and even teenagers are diagnosed with such problems.
The main question that arises is that who should be blamed. However, it would not be long that children, their parents and industry should be equally blamed. Sedentary lifestyle, inactive work culture, availability of every kind of fast food and less of workouts have gifted children these old age problems.
There are many children in the US, who are just nine, and 10 -years- old but they prick their finger eight to 10 times a day juts to ensure that their blood sugar level is within limits. Little kids receiving insulin injections or holding pumps is becoming quite a common scene now.
Researchers across the globe are working to create a drug for these little children so they get freedom from these injections and pumps. However, it would take time. Till then it is very important that parents as well as teachers should educate children about these diseases.
Molly Naylor is the Executive Director of the Houston Gulf Coast Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, said that children need to encouraged to play outside than playing video games in the house. Naylor said that if children are not agreeing to go outside and play then parents can play a major role.
Parents can always play outdoor games with children and go for long walks or go for bicycling with them. This would not only increase their bonding with them, but would also maintain the health of children as well as of parents.
