This year the Sutherland Shire Relay for Life would be celebrated in the inspiration of Olympic year. It has been reported that during the event, the participants would be asked to pass batons.

The baton, which would be passed in a team, would be decided by the teams individually. It has come to the light that one of the participating team, ‘Hooters’ would be using plastic boobs as a baton. The aim of using plastic boobs is to attract the attention of women towards breast cancer.

Every year, millions of people are diagnosed with deadly cancer. A large number of people, all over the world, fail to survive because of late diagnosis of cancer. Therefore, keeping the symptoms of cancer in mind and getting oneself tested for cancer can save many innocent lives from the clutches of cancer.

A number of organizations organize events to make people aware about cancer. It has been informed that the Relay for Life would be held in the month of May. Meanwhile, it has been reported that the Bega Valley Relay for Life would be holding an event at Pambula Sporting Complex on 31st of March and 1st April.

All those who are interested in taking part in the event would be required to dress up in the clothes of their favorite actor or actress. The chairman of the relay, Greg Whitby was reported as saying, “We are well on our way with our organisation for this year’s relay, and now is the time to get your teams organised and start fundraising… Cancer Council put $16 million into research last year alone that will help save lives”.

The funds raised by such events are sent directly towards cancer research centers. The money thus invested in sued in devising effective treatment for cancer patients so that they could be saved from the grips of deadly cancer.
