Neutrinos Travel Faster Than Light, Claims CRN

As per recent reports, it has been revealed that a group of researchers at the CRN lab near Geneva has disproved the Albert Einstein’s theory of special relativity. As per his theory, which was taken out in 1905, light travels the fastest in vacuum and nothing in the universe is as fast as light.

The study researchers have claimed that they have conducted an experiment in which they have found that neutrinos, some sort of tiny particles, have travelled faster than light. The tiny particles travel one minute faster than light.

A group of experts has written in Science Insider journal that CRN claims are false and they might have read the reading wrong or there might have been weak connection between a GPS unit and a computer, which caused misreading.

The report further read that 60 nanoseconds discrepancy would have happened due to a bad connection between fibres, which is responsible for connecting the timing machine with that electronic card in a computer.

"After tightening the connection and then measuring the time it takes data to travel the length of the fiber, researchers found that the data arrive 60 nanoseconds earlier than assumed”, said the report. They said that CRN researchers need to retest their hypothesis and the experts said that they hope this time they are able to know that their claim was a mere illusion.

Spokesperson for CRN told that they have full confidence in their research findings. They need to prove efficacy of their study to others. They have tested and retested their findings and every time, they have reached at the same conclusion that the tiny particles are capable of travelling faster than light.
