Eating Disorders Awareness Week

Here comes good news for all the North East Lincolnshire people as with the efforts of a non-profit organization, the region and the people here will be soon getting an eating disorder clinic, where they can easily get their health conditions like anorexia and bulimia treated.

Plans have revealed that the new upcoming facility has been facilitated with five beds, specialist out-patient, in-patient, home and day services for all adults and teenagers meaning that the North East Lincolnshire people have no more to travel 100 miles far off to get treatments to their eating disorders.

The centre will be based at The Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby. The funding power behind the medical facility is of a not-for-profit organization. The main operator of the facility is NAViGO and the new health facility is being counted as the "first of its own kind" in the region.

People can also access the services of the facility via the NHS.

Regarding the situation, Ms. Amanda Hind, Eating Disorders Manager for NAViGO, said in her statement that "Sadly, eating disorders are becoming more and more common and as such we recognized that we needed to change and adapt our service to reflect this. The opening of Rharian Fields is a big step forward for mental health services in North East Lincolnshire”.

Eating disorders are unfortunately becoming common among people worldwide thus it is becoming important for the concerned organizations to raise maximum awareness among people regarding the disorders.

In a similar effort, Ball State Dietetic Association has decided to participate in the National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, in which the association will help promoting the week by organizing numerous events and informational booths to make maximum number of people learn about the eating disorders and the damages linked with same.
