Men Find Women In Red More Appealing

Red color is most commonly known as the symbol of love and romance in various cultures. Proving the same fact is a recently held study, which says that a lady in red is highly approached by men as they see lesser chances of rejection.

The above findings have come from the study ran by the scientists of the University of Rochester in New York, which says that red is a color of passion and makes women look more attractive to men because they seem more receptive to sexual advances after wearing the color.

Researchers, after noticing in their study that men have rated red colored bordered frame of women photographs as the most attractive among many different colored frames, then made women wear different colored shirts. They noticed that men in both the procedures of finding women receptive to being romantic and sexual propositions, favored and voted for women with red color.

The next question that the researchers asked the male participants in the study was: Imagine that you have a date with your pocket containing $100, how much will you prefer spending on your date? The answer again saw women in red with higher points.

The authors of the study calculated not only the social perception of the vibrant color behind the male votes but they also revealed in their findings that the biological instincts also play an important role in prompting male’s attraction towards women in red.

Research says not only human but nonhuman male primates are also attracted to females displaying red.

Mr. Adam Pazda, a social psychologist from the university, said: “We find it fascinating that merely changing the color of a woman's shirt can have such a strong influence on how she is perceived by men”.
