Right-Hand-Side Letters of QWERTY Keyboard Gives Positive Vibes

A recent research has found that right hand side written words from a QWERTY keyboard gives positive emotions. However, words written from left side are generally associated with negative sentiments.

Researchers from University College London and New School for Social Research, New York, made the above statement with an example. Cognitive scientist Kyle Jasmin of University College London was of the view that the word ‘POOL’ is written with the right side letters, while ‘Tax’ is filled with all left-side.

Another researcher Daniel Casasanto, of the New School for Social Research, New York, was of the view that all the effect has come from within the keyboard and it is known as QWERTY effect. In order to reach the conclusion, they enrolled some volunteers and asked them to tell about their feeling about own typed words.

It was found that people had positive feelings at the time when they composed words from right-side letters and felt some negatives vibes at the time when they type words composed of left-side letters.

“People responsible for naming new products, brands, and companies might do well to consider the potential advantages of consulting their keyboards and choosing the 'right' name”, said study researchers.

Study researchers said that they were having no bias towards users, who are right -handed or had any negative feeling for those, who use left-handed pattern. Daniel said that they just wanted to establish one fact that when tongue twisters put us off then same thing happens at the time when one types such words on the phone.

Daniel said that he has found that right hand side words are always easy to type, as well as easy to pronounce. It has also been found that the letters, which are on the right hand side, can be used to form some really pleasing words.
