Zynga Buys OMGPOP

It seems that Zynga, a social gaming company, believes in finishing the competition. This side of them was seen at the time when they bought OMGPOP, another social gaming company, which has knocked their top position of the social game charts with their mobile sketching game, Draw Something.

Official reports have revealed that more than 1 billion drawings were made by the players in about 3,000 seconds. OMGPOP Company is a 40-person company, and has been bought for around $200 million.

Zynga CEO Mark Pincus said, “Draw Something has captured the imagination of millions of people around the world. We love the way they've worked playful and relevant culture into their games from Devo to Daft Punk, from Lin to Beckham”.

Experts said that it was a smart move being made by Zynga as if there would have been some other company at their place. They would have tried to mimic the Draw Something, but Zynga applied their brains and bought the company, which is a thumb on deal.

Chief Mobile Officer David Ko said that players are getting addicted to the game and the game has been downloaded 35 million times in just six weeks. Purchasing OMGPOP was not at all a bad deal as they have taken out 35 online games and all have been doing well in the market.
