Red Meat Might Be Dangerous For Health

In a recent report, it has been revealed how eating too much red meat can be dangerous for the health. It might put one to the risk of heart diseases and death over a long period of time. This was according to a study conducted by Dr. Walter Willet, the chairperson of nutrition from the Harvard School of Public Health. He was of the view that eating too much red meat might be directly linked to a deteriorated life quality and premature death.

The mortality rates became higher with eating red meat and the nutritional values were falling. Personal choices tend to get the better of a person sometimes and they seem to ignore facts like the nutritional value of the food and so on. It is, however, really essential that these facts are paid attention to, because eating too much red meat is definitely going to harm the body in the long run. It raises the risk of obesity as well as a number of related diseases. This makes it essential for one and all to eat red meat in controlled amounts.

The other healthier options such as chicken and fish should be incorporated in the lifestyle of the person and one should be really careful about every piece of meat that goes in the mouth, be sure of whether it is safe and pure for eating or not.

“We had originally thought that red meat might not be good for mental health, as studies from other countries had found red meat consumption to be associated with physical health risks, but it turns out that it actually may be quite important”, said Felice Jacka, associate professor from the Deakin's University Barwon Psychiatric Research Unit.
