OPERA Head Resigns
As per reports, it has been revealed that Prof. Antonio Ereditato, who headed the experiment which concluded that subatomic particles can travel faster than light, has resigned from his post.
If sources are to be believed, it is said that some of the group members of his group Opera were demanding that he should resign from his post, as it was reestablished that nothing can travel faster than light.
It was quite shocking for the world to know that the particles known as neutrinos can travel faster than light. Experts across the globe were surprised to see that a new theory is challenging the theory which is prevalent since decades, as till now no other research has proved the same.
However, then also there were researchers, who were of the view that Antonio must have misread the readings as it is not possible that Einstein’s theory could go wrong. After coming across the vivid views of other researchers, Antonio said that he has tried to find even the minutest mistakes, but he did not find any mistake or any other nasty effects.
He was determined on the point that his findings are error free. “When you don't find anything, then you say. Well, now I'm forced to go out and ask the community to scrutinize this”, he further affirmed. However, after few weeks, another story got published by Orion, and it read that neutrons travel at the speed of light but they are not able to surpass the speed of light.
This gave birth to other experiment which reinstated the fact that nothing can travel faster than speed of light. The findings were a kind of shock for the team OPERA and several discussions among their group members made them reach a conclusion that Antonio should step down from his post.
