Many Patients Waiting For Long to Get Appointments

The technology is advancing fast and so is the medical industry. It is another big fact that there is not much advancement to lessen the waiting period of patients to get appointments from specialists and their advice over the patient's health.

Recent reports have confirmed that the situation is very worsening in regions like Australia where the specialist pain clinics are highly overloaded with the patients and taking an appointment from an expert immediately is almost impossible.

The patient's rush is so heavy in these clinics that no matter if the patient is suffering from any chronic pain or if it is a small child, who is suffering from any problem or illness, he has to wait for several months for his turn to see the medical expert, which is resulting in northing other than disturbing the patient's life and restricting him to enjoy his work and life.

Investigations are informing that nationally the presently median waiting time of patients to get an appointment from specialists for gaining their help and advice is 103 days from the date a GP has provided a referral.

The waiting situation is even worse in other cities like Queensland, which have the longest wait period of 575 days i. e. more than 18 months according to the analysis. On the other hand, South Australian patients' waiting time is 420 days, in Victoria the waiting time is 370 days and in NSW and Western Australia it stands at 365 days each.

Another fact that the reports highlighted said that the public and the private pain clinics both have a mass difference in their median waiting times, with patients at public clinics waiting for 150 days to get appointment and others at the private clinics waiting for 38.5 days.
