US Market Supplied with New Batch of Fake Avastin

It seems that the US is deeply falling in the vicious circle of counterfeit drug supplies, with reports from the FDA (Food and Drug Association) confirming the finding of second such fake supply in the US medical industry.

Yes, reports from the FDA are confirming finding the second new batch of counterfeit cancer drug Avastin, the first batch of which was discovered in the month of February.

Earlier in February, the headlines read that United States medicine industry has been served with fake supplies of the Roche drug, which has been shipped in to the borders of United States from the Middle East through Europe.

The agencies are calculating similar pattern following this month’s fake medicine supply discovery, as they have revealed that the supply batch has been shipped in Turkey through Britain and the efforts behind the entire operation are of a UK-based middlemen, confirms officials in their statements of Wednesday.

This second discovery of the illegal trade is highlighting big dangers for global medicine supply chain. The worst affected group of this illegal trading business will be the patients, whose lives have been put on risk with these ineffective or contaminated products.

Investigations are ongoing to learn about the loopholes that could have eased the entrance of the counterfeit drug batch in to the U. S. boundaries, says Britain's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

“It's an ongoing investigation”, said spokeswoman Ms. Jennifer Kyne. “We're helping the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) with their investigation and doing all we can on our side”.

So far, investigations from the MHRA have revealed about the import of 120 packs of counterfeit drug by a British wholesaler Richard's Pharma from a Turkish supplier, 38 from which have already been exported to the United States whereas rest have been sold to some other British firm with name River East Supplies, which has also unfortunately exported the batch to the U. S. market.
