In the recent years, there have been many men who have been doing the same, and it is not seen as a famine act of getting one's face fixed. In 2011, there were 9% surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures in the US conducted on men. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery this number has surged 121% since 1997. Although there just has been a marginal increase in the overall cosmetic surgeries being conducted in US, the number of males getting liposuction procedures and eyelid surgeries has been on a constant rise. There were nearly 41,000 lipoplasty procedures conducted on men in 2011 which is a jump of 14% whereas the eyelid surgeries performed on men saw an increase of 6% with 23,000 procedures in being done 2011.

In women, the trend of cosmetic surgeries has been limited to Botox and Restalyne, but in the case of men there is a huge surge in the surgical procedures like rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, male breast reduction and face-lifts.
