Five Cable Companies Collaborate To Launch Wi-Fi Network

As per recent reports, it has been subjected that five cable companies have collaborated to launch a Wi-Fi network that can be used by customers of all the five cable companies.

It has been discovered that customers of Bright House Networks, Cablevision, Comcast, Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable will be able to take advantage of over 50,000 hotspots.

It has been unveiled that the deal has been made upon a 2010 agreement between Cablevision, Comcast and Time Warner Cable, under which, the customers of the companies in New York, Long Island, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Connecticut will be able to access hotspots of all the companies.

Recent reports suggest that Bright House Networks and Cablevision have already launched their collaborative venture, dubbed CableWifi, in New York and Central Florida. It is being expected that after a few months, the company will be extending its access to other companies' hotspots even.

Kristin Dolan, Cablevision's Senior Executive Vice President of Product Management and marketing, said, "We believe that Wi-Fi is a superior approach to mobile data and that cable providers are best positioned to build the highest-capacity national network".

The introduction of this Wi-Fi service will offer customers with fast and reliable internet access everywhere, away from home or their office place.
