Midwife Sacked For Tea Break

Bizarre news, a midwife was sacked after she went for a tea break, while a woman was giving birth to a baby.

Previous reports suggest that Helen Bannister was a famous and experienced midwife at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. She retired from her job in 2010.

During the hearing of her case in front of Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), it was informed that the midwife discharged a woman suffering from pre-eclampsia, during which hypertension arises at the time of pregnancy in association with significant amounts of protein in the urine.

Moreover, during the hearing, it was informed that since the last 10-years of her practice, Ms Bannister was even found guilty in few other serious issue, including interfering with medical records that too for three times.

Further, it was requested that the midwife should not be allowed to practice anymore; else she will put many lives in danger.

Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) panel Chairman Matthew Fiander said: "Helen Bannister made a number of serious failures in carrying out her duty. While she has expressed remorse, she has expressed limited insight into her failings".

Further, Mr. Fiander declared that coming across the seriousness of the case and the harm the midwife posed to her patients, the name of the midwife will be eliminated from medical register.
