The findings from a national survey of adult patients have revealed some shocking results about asthma sufferers in Australia who they say are not at all serious about their condition.
The health authorities have cleared in its reports that Asthma sufferers in Australia have a very laid-back attitude towards their problem. The authority warns that this attitude can prove fatal one day if not changed.
In its reports, the authority showed the findings of the survey, which said that majority of Australians suffering from asthma, prioritize their social media and beauty over their respiratory health. Almost 95% of surveyed asthma sufferers had a disbelief that they were managing their conditions well, 87% confirmed they suffered shortness of breath and other asthma symptoms in the last 12 months and 60% face severe asthma attacks every six months.
If above figures are to be believed then it is really not possible to believe that the asthma sufferers are taking good care of themselves. This clearly shows that their asthma is not well-managed and situations must be controlled before they become troublesome.
"There is an alarming difference between adults' perception of their asthma management and the reality", said National Asthma Council Chairman Associate Professor Noela Whitby.
