Researchers have made a new and a bigger discovery regarding the IVF treatments. With this discovery, medical industry is seeing better chances of healthy pregnancy.
The above are the findings of a Sydney study, through which experts have suggested the IVF professionals and couples to prefer returning only a single embryo to the mother's uterus as they believe that the action will significantly reduce the chances of stillborn or early death of the baby.
The findings of the above study have undoubtedly added a powerful extra weight to specialists' campaigning against the double embryo transfer.
Experts explained that chances of death are 26% higher even if only one embryo is implanted to form a continuing pregnancy and another embryo is transferred at the same time to get the desired results. These are the facts that have been learnt by researchers after analyzing 50,000+ births from assisted reproductive technology in Australia and New Zealand that occurred between 2004 and 2008.
The study leader, Ms. Elizabeth Sullivan, from the perinatal and reproductive epidemiology research unit of the University of NSW, said that the results achieved were very strong and couples must consider the findings when they decide the number of embryos to have replaced.
