A new committee is being launched in Queensland, aimed at eradication of the evil HIV/AIDS from the state, the declaration for which has been made today by the Health Minister Lawrence Springborg, as per a recent report.
The new ministerial committee is taking place of the Queensland Association for Healthy Communities, a health organization for gay, bisexual and lesbians, which was previously responsible for managing Queensland Health funding.
It is being said that the management of $2.6 million would now be done by nine new people in the new group, including Farmer Dave Graham. Graham is a person with huge political ambitions, who had revealed his sexuality as gay in 2006 on Big Brother.
The report finds that the committee's chairman has also been appointed by the government. The Cairns Sexual Health Service's director Darren Russell has been chosen for the position for his vast knowledge and in-depth expertise in the area of HIV medicine.
It has been found that he has worked since 1990 in the discipline and has also remained the Australian Federation of AIDS Organizations' president from 2003 to 2006.
"Make good use of renewed community awareness about HIV/AIDS to spread the message about safe sexual practices and other effective anti-HIV strategies", Mr. Springborg said to the community.
