Pakistan’s Only Nobel Laureate, Adbus Salam’s Name Removed from School Textbooks

Adbus Salam was Pakistan’s only Nobel laureate whose efforts have today helped the country develop its early stages of Pakistan’s nuclear program. He was a Physicist and has produced the theoretical framework for the clear discovery of the subatomic “God particle”. But something bad to know about is that in spite of such a contribution towards the betterment of the country, his name today has been even stricken from the school textbooks. His legacy and identity has been badly damaged in his own homeland and the only reason behind this is his religious affiliation.

As per information, Adbus Salam who died in 1996, was a member of the Ahmadi sect that has been offended by the government. Taliban militants for whom the Ahmade sect constituted for heretics also targeted him. All this clearly showed that Islamic extremism has grown to high extremes in this country.

Sunni Muslims constitute the highest population of Pakistan’s entire populace. Besides the Ahmadi Sect, there are many other religious minorities in Pakistan like Shiite Muslims, Christians and Hindus that experiences several racialism-based attacks.

In last few years, since the growth of hard-line elucidations over the Islamic religion, militants are largely seen attacking the groups they oppose.
