Ballarat Base Hospital Improves Patient Waiting Time in Certain Sections

The Victorian Government has released a list of hospitals performance. Through the list, it has been revealed that the Ballarat Base Hospital has been able to improve its waiting times in certain sections.

One of the sections where it has improved is elective surgery and the hospital has been able to treat 83% of its patients in emergency department. Patient satisfaction level has also increased, as it has been found that about 79% of patient, who were being admitted at hospital in last six months, were happy with the care that they have received.

Ambulance performance has also improved significantly, as 97% transfers were being done within 40 minutes. In this particular section, the hospital has been able to break the state record as the target is 90%, but the hospital has managed to get 97%.

In addition, the Warrnambool Base Hospital has also performed better. The data has revealed that 77% patients at emergency department were seen on time. Health Minister David Davis said that he is happy that the hospitals have been trying their best to meet state targets.

“I in no way resile from the challenge that we face with elective surgery, in no way resile from the challenge that we face in managing ongoing emergency demand”, further affirmed Davis.
