Ireland Residents Attend Largest Ever Jehovah’s Witnesses Convention

Years after convention held in Ireland, witnessed by thousands. It was in 1978 last when such a convention was held in Christian community. Yesterday, more than 9,000 people were present at Jehovah's Witnesses convention in Ireland, which has been classed as the biggest convention ever.

It has been reported that the convention marked the ending of a three-day event held at Dublin's CityWest Conference Centre.

Detailed reports suggest that 8,410 people attended the event on Saturday and as many as 8,710 marked their presence on Friday. Nevertheless, 1,700 delegates from other countries, including US, UK, Germany, Russia, France, China and a few more, were there at the event.

More than 500 volunteers supported the organization and made the event successful. It has been estimated that 7.5 million living around the world are Jehovah's Witnesses.

David Dunlea from Cork said "The Safeguard Your Heart convention highlighted Biblical references to the heart. It encouraged self-scrutiny and reflection to help make wise decisions, improve family life, strengthen relationship with God, and find true happiness".

Mr. Dunela's parents were also Jehovah's Witnesses. Rather, he estimated that in Ireland alone. there must be over 6,000 Jehovah's Witnesses in 114 different congregations all over the island.
