It seems that it would take some time before one can actually understand the relevance of recently found Higgs boson. It was some two weeks ago that it was found by a team of researchers with the European organization CERN. It was further explained that two independent teams had contributed to the same while experiments.

The news has caught the attention of one and all as for long, it was being found by researchers. It must have taken a lot for conducting the experiments, which unleashed how protons were smashed together at speed equivalent to that of speed of light.

Though, the team, while making the final announcement, made sure that they would take some more time to find definitive identification of the Higgs boson, nicknamed as "God particle”. The particle was named after Peter Higgs, who in the year 1964, showed his take on the concept of the particle. But, the question remains the same what does it mean to rest of the people on the planet Earth.

The discovery of the Higgs "could lead to the discovery of unseen dimensions, parallel universes and possibly the 'strings' in string theory”, said Michio Kaku, a Professor of theoretical physics at City University of New York, who is of the view that it is perhaps the first step towards exploring a lot about Earth.
