US Sees Record-Breaking Cases of Whooping Cough

A report revealed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has threatened people in the U. S., though bit less than health experts who know the health hazards of the deadly whooping cough.

The CDC members’ investigation has led them to warn regarding the sky-rocketing cases of the cough. It has been told that the number found this year is pinpointing the worst condition ever in the nation in previous five decades or more.

The inquest has unfolded that while affecting several thousands of residents, the disease has even killed some nine children. And since it only largely targets small to young children, it becomes a highest concern for everyone.

While 40,000 illnesses were found in 1959 too, it has been found that the virus has attacked some 18,000 people in the first half of this year only. According to the rate of increase, the total cases till the end of the year would traverse that count easily.

Agitating the huge number of infections, health experts have been suggesting all people to get their children vaccinated against the virus. Also, they say that those who frequently come in contact with babies along with pregnant women should get a booster on priority.
