Australia Finding Ways to Settle Mentally Ill People

The best way to assess Australia's mental health reform will be to see how many people suffering mental illnesses have got job. Their contribution towards increasing the national income should also be something to watch for, said Professor Allan Fels, who is heading the first National Mental Health Commission.

It seems that Fells is quite serious to know the ways by which mental ill people could add to the current productivity of the nation. This is the reason that he is going to arrange a meeting with leading businessmen in small and businesses, both.

The main aim of the meeting will be to discuss as how they can encourage and create job opportunities for mentally ill people, so they could be prove as an asset to the country. Prof. Fells is not only targeting at business, but is also looking at the hospital care.

Initially, independent care based model was being proposed, which meant treating person individually. However, he was of the view that it can be quite time consuming, as someone could take one week and other could take six months.

Fells said that they want to convey a message to all mental ill people that if they will continue to mourn on their condition then it will not only affect them, but also their children and families.
