Warnings are being issued by Connecticut environmental officials especially for the sensitive groups living in several counties as the experts have predicted unhealthy air quality throughout most of Connecticut for next couple of days and thus they do not want any person in the region to get harmed from same.
Clearing the issue, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said in its statement that the weather officials have predicted elevated concentrations of ground-level ozone pollution in the environment on Friday and Saturday.
They are urging people to stay cautious in advance only especially the sensitive groups, who should prefer remaining inside to avoid any harm to their health. The counties that have been put under this alert are Fairfield, southern Litchfield, New Haven, Hartford and Tolland Counties.
They explained that the predicted unhealthy effect will be caused due to the prevailing hot and humid air mass in the region. The heat and surface winds when will combine together, they can pamper all the favorable conditions for elevated ozone levels, which can be accompanied with harmful risks of respiratory symptoms and breathing problems especially in children and sensitive adults.
The state Department of Environmental Conservation has warned of increased unhealthy ozone levels today. They have declared an air quality alert from 11 a. m. to 11 p. m. today.
