An Outbreak of Ebola in Uganda; 16 Died

Recently, there was noticed an epidemic of Ebola in Uganda but due to a variation in the symptoms of the sufferers, doctors were not able to respond accurately towards it. Till now, 16 people of Uganda have already died because of this disease and according to Yoweri Museveni, President of Uganda, if an immediate action is not taken, then this disease will spread to many other villages of Uganda, including those in the interiors of its western district of Kibaale.

He added, "The doctors in Kibaale say the symptoms were a bit atypical of Ebola. They were not clearly like Ebola symptoms. Because of that delay, the sickness spread to another village".

But then at the same time, an official of World Health Organization has stated on Friday that authorities are about to put a halt in the spread of this lethal disease.

As told to reporters in the capital Kampala by Joaquim Saweka, the WHO representative in Uganda, each of those persons, who have been found in link with Ebola victims, has been secluded.

An "Ebola contact list" has been created by Ugandan health officials. In total, there are 176 names in the list and these refer to people who had been even in a minute contact with Ebola sufferers. Action is being taken on their situation.

It was on July 28 this year, when following the death of several villagers in an isolated corner of western Uganda, Ebola was confirmed in the region.
