It has been reported that a team of international researchers have found a solution for the lethal viruses Hendra and Nipah. The team has noted that the medicine thus created has proved successful in animal trial.
The findings of the researchers will soon be published in the renowned pages of Science Translational Medicine. The deadly viruses were first discovered in 1990s. The outbreak of the virus has affected lives of many humans and animals.
The outbreak was mainly reported in the regions of Australia, Bangladesh, India, Malaysia and Singapore. The two deadly viruses are spread from the fruit bats. The team of international researchers has recently conducted a series of test of the African monkey to find a cure for the virus.
During the experiment, the researchers found a concrete treatment of Nipah and Hendra virus. An author of the study, Christopher C. Broder said, “These findings are really quite promising and appear to offer a real potential treatment for Hendra virus infection in people”.
It is hoped that the findings of the researchers will prove helpful in getting affected animals treated. Besides, the chances of outbreak of the viruses could also be minimized. However, further studies would be conduct before making the drug available for clinical use.
