What will you call this: carelessness or a rude attitude? The news is discussing about the man, who was discharged from the hospital but wasn't informed that he is suffering from cancer, the deadly illness.
Mr. Trevor Roberts, 68, is suffering from terminal cancer, confirmed the reports of the tests performed. But the Royal Bolton Hospital did not bother to inform him about his illness and allowed him a discharge from the facility after two days of keeping him under a health check.
He learnt about his illness when he was taken to A&E a fortnight later, where the doctors insisted immediate admission finding him too frail to make his eight-mile journey back home.
Nothing worst could happen than this to a grandfather, who has not been given some time to say goodbye to even his grandchildren, who weren't there because they were out for holidays and were totally unaware about the condition of their grandfather.
The hospital has now apologized to the family of Mr. Roberts, from Tyldesley, Wigan. Unfortunately, he died due to his deadly illness five days later.
Hospital bosses blame the breakdown in communication between their staff members on two different wards. But can that bring back the moments that Mr. Roberts wished for i. e. meeting his grandchildren once before his death?
