Conference scheduled to Teach Doctors about Transgender Health

Experts, professionals and concerned authorities have taken their first-most step to learn about transgender health for which, they have also organized a conference in Cairns this week and invited all the doctors and specialists for participation.

It is for the first time that such a conference has been held and it will definitely mark the inauguration of the transgender health forum in Queensland, experts believes.

The Transgender, Sister Girl and Gender Diverse Conference has been scheduled this Friday and is being called as the first of its type in Australia. Sexual health expert Dr. Darren Russell has organized the conference to teach health professionals and all those medical doctors, who are not aware of how to treat transgender people with health issues about same.

"There are specialists in this area around the country - both GPs who have got large numbers of transgender people in their community as well as clinics, specialists and psychiatrists who are experts in this", Dr. Russell told AAP.

He added that with this conference, he aims to expertise the medical experts in Australia for all such services and advises, which if not handled immediately, can create a big barrier to the health services and the entire medical industry.
