Hypertension is considered to be one of the leading causes of death across the globe, reveals the World Health Organization. More than seven million people have to lose their lives due to hypertension, but there is a solution to curb the problem.

A recent study has revealed that controlling five factors associated with hypertension will help people to prevent as well as overcome hypertension. The five factors linked with hypertension are obesity, rate of consumption of vegetables, and smoking, physical activeness and alcohol.

It is vital to bring improvements in the same, so that a person is able to treat hypertension. In order to reach at the above given result, the study researchers assessed 9,637 Finnish men and 11,430 women. The median age taken of them was between 25 and 74.

Researcher Pekka Jousilahti from National Institute for Health and Welfare was of the view that incorporating healthy lifestyle, which means no smoking, less than 50g consumption of alcohol in a week and rigorous exercise regime, daily intake of fresh fruits and vegetables and maintaining balance in weight, will keep one away from hypertension.

"Even having one to three healthy lifestyle factors reduced the risk of hypertension remarkably", further affirmed Pekka.
