Artwork on Prosthetic Limbs: Spare Parts London, The Most Awaited Exhibition

Today starts the exhibition of modified prosthetics “Spare Parts London”. As a part of the creations from some of the world renowned artists, here you would get to see beautiful prosthetics that were no longer of use now. This idea of beautifying those worn out prosthetics that once helped an individual jumped, danced or simply walk, into an artwork came by Priscilla Sutton.

There is no doubt to say that in life of an amputee, Prosthetics play a vital role but when it no longer fits or just gets damaged, then rather storing it for years or throwing it into garbage, a much better way out is to do some creation with it.

As told by Sutton, "I was cleaning my home and I found two old legs in my cupboard. I thought it was a bit crazy to keep hoarding my legs".

In this exhibition, artists from Britain, Australia, the United States and Japan will showcase their thoughts in the form of their work. People are really excited to have a glance over their creations and therefore they are paying new attention to such devices too.

Who doesn’t know the famous double amputee Olympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius from South African, who is better known as the "Blade Runner"? It was following his popularity, that a much heightened awareness has been generated among public regarding prosthetics.
