Obesity is a major problem in America and some often neglected small things are giving a boost to its spread further, according to a recent report. Cornell University researchers say that one might have never even thought but working mothers are making a big contribution in the increase in the number of obesity cases.
As per the team, while mothers go out of home, they unknowingly leave their growing children behind to suffer different health problems. Obesity is one, since children many a times do not follow apt eating habits and are sometimes bought prepared foods to eat.
Though in some cases, fathers are present at home with their children. They also do not realize what exactly to do to maintain a good eating habit in their child. However, this does not mean they are worthless, but they need to discuss responsibilities with their wives, may it be regarding food preparation or mealtimes.
The findings are based on the analysis of data from a survey of 25,000 families. It was found that working women were spending some 127 minutes lesser than stay-at-home mothers. Also, fathers were spending only 41 extra minutes than their working wives with children.
However, working women do not have time for themselves too, thus a mutual understanding between husbands and wives may help.
