Apple is all ready to sell its iPhone 5 today but sources are confirming that its new dock connector cord has completely sold out too and thus the product is delayed by 2-3 weeks.
Since the new iPhone or iPod can be charged or sync with Lightning connector with the $19 cable, officials believe that the customers have already stocked up the cable.
They explained that the iPhone 5 won’t work with older iPhone charging cables, moreover, even the adapter that can connect the old iPhone cords with the iPhone 5 is $10 expensive than the dock connector cable of the handset.
Experts believe that limited information upon the $29/$39 Lightning adapter can arouse a certain degree of confusion. But they added that the adapter is worth its price because it has a big amount of work to do. With Thunderbolt, these cables have capability to handle digital to analog conversion, control USB audio and all the signaling for track changes.
Further they added that people when learnt that these adapters can't send analog video out and are incapable to support "iPod Out" mode, they started assuming that the adapters could not handle analog audio leading to the misconception that the iPhone 5 would completely obsolete millions of dockable devices at a stroke but it is not true!
