ZTE Ready to Launch Smartphones Using Mozilla OS Soon

ZTE Corp., the famous Chinese telecommunications equipment maker is all ready to launch its smart phones by the beginning of the next year for which it has used a mobile operating system that has been developed with Mozilla, the U. S. software company behind the Firefox web browser.

With the move, it has been confirmed that more of the handset makers have today started opting for options other than Google Inc.'s dominant Android mobile operating system in an effort to expand the software platforms for their smart phones and mobile devices they offer. As far as Apple Inc.'s iPhone is concerned, the handset uses its own iOS.

Moreover, the company has also committed to both Android and Windows Phone about its plans of launching the Firefox OS within the next few months, ZTE spokesperson Mr. David Dai Shu told Reuters.

"We are trying to increase our efforts in coming up with our own operating system, while introducing products based on Android," said Dai Shu. "It's all part of our wider plans to create a better balance of products using various operating systems. We won't just rely on Android or Windows", he added.

No exact information over Firefox OS is out yet but the leaked screenshots say that the operating system could look somewhat similar to IOS or Android. Wait and watch what ZTE has in store for you!
