Microsoft's recently-unveiled motion controller add-on for the Xbox 360 - Project Natal - was demonstrated and publicized on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.'
The Natal demo on Late Night was run by Kudo Tsunoda from Microsoft Game Studios - one of the people behind the creation of the Microsoft's new motion-control technology which is set to intrude into the living rooms of the gamers in the fairly near future. It is being widely expected that the launch of the motion peripheral will nearly as huge as that of the Xbox 360 itself.
Going by a statement by the Xbox 360 strategy chief Shane Kim, the Natal has "got to have a great launch line-up" before its introduction in the markets. Kim said: "Conceptually, the launch of Natal will be like the launch of Xbox 360. It's going to be that big. We're not just going to ship it when the hardware and software are ready."
Elaborating on the 'target' buyers of the new Microsoft offering, Kim that rather than focusing on the either current casual gamers or even PS2 people who have not upgraded, the company was looking to reach out to the nearly 60 percent households sans a video game console.
Looks like the launch of Natal will actually determine the chances of the Xbox 720 coming up within the next three years!
