Recent updates from McDonald's have stated that the sales have increased by 0.7% in July. Chief Executive Don Thompson has called the sales of McDonald's as decent and modest.
Gauge unveiled the sales have shown a 1.6% rise in the US. This is being dubbed as great sign for the chain. This is all the more important as it has spent some months fighting with the competitors and dealing with wage protests from its workers.
Analysts were expecting a 0.4% gain. Estimations have been compiled by Consensus Metrix. The 34,700-restaurant chain has included a number of things in the menu in US this year. This encapsulates chicken McWraps and egg-white breakfast sandwiches.
This initiative was preceded with an aim to compete with Burger King Worldwide Inc. (BKW) and Wendy's Co.
There has been some changes in which McDonald's have been working. McDonald's is advertising its Dollar Menu in the US. In France and Germany, its largest European markets, it has been luring customers by new things.
According to a New York-based analyst at Telsey Advisory Group, Peter Saleh, "Their breakfast business has been strong. As the economy improves and you get job growth, more and more people are now driving to work and so they tend to go through the drive-through".
