Harlem Hate Mob Attacks Sikh Columbia professor
A Sikh professor of Columbia University was attacked by a Harlem hate mob. He said that on Monday, he would like to give the mob a good speech on the Sikh religion.
Prabhjot Singh said the young attackers who shouted "Osama" and "terrorist" as they broke his jaw acted out of ignorance.
The 31-year-old physician said it is useless to ask them what was going on in their minds. "On Monday, I would ask them if they had any questions, if they knew what they were doing. Invite them where we worship. Get to know who we are and then share it with your friends", said the Professor.
Singh said he is thankful to three passersby who interfered and protected him from getting injured more. He is married and is the father of a child. He aims to work at the NYPD and community leaders to educate people on the Sikh religion. This religion is not similar to the Islam.
A hate crime investigation has been started by police and is trying to recognize the mob that attacked Singh around 8:15 on Saturday. The time when he was attacked, his friend and he were walking at W. 110th St. and Lenox Ave. The group consisted of 20-30 young men who constantly punched him and "pulled his beard".
