Asia will beat North America in Internet Usage: Report

The fresh report from Forrester Research, unveils an astonishing fact regarding the Internet.

Number of Internet users in Asia is going up, while North America is witnessing shrinkage in online population.

Figures suggest that in the coming four years Asia's total online population will account for 43 percent as compared with 38 percent in 2008. On the other hand, North America's online population will dive to 13 percent from 17 percent in 2008.

Apart from North America, Europe's online population will shrink by 4 percent, from 26 percent in 2008 to 22 percent in the coming four years.

Middle East as well as Africa will remain at the low with 10 percent.

China will see 11-percent increase in its online population.

By 2014, the overall online population will stand at 2.17 billion as compared with 1.46 billion in 2008.

Forrester's report suggests that in 2013, China will top with maximum number of Internet users, chased by the U. S., India, Japan and Brazil.

In 2008, the U. S. was no. 1, followed by China, Japan, Brazil and Germany.

Speakin his mind, Zia Daniell Wigder, author of the report said, "The U. S. is not going to be the center of the Internet universe."
