Twitter, LiveJournal and Facebook are still warding off online attacks aimed at a Georgian blogger called Cyxymu last week.
Cyxymu was attacked because he was making use of these sites to criticize Russia's conduct towards Georgia. But, the attacks knocked down many popular Internet services.
Facebook witnessed delays logging in and posting to their online profiles due to apparent distributed denial-of-service attack.
However, Biz Stone, Twitter's co-founder, claimed, "The attacks continued but we got better at dealing with them such that Twitter remains active."
California-based Facebook is still witnessing botnet, but the degree of attacks has become insignificant.
The concerned blogger has allegedly stated that he was of the opinion that Russia began the DDoS attacks to stop him from condemning Moscow for Russia-Georgia war.
Cyxymu was posting his views via Twitter, Facebook and LiveJournal
Facebook has been working with Twitter and and Internet search company Google Inc to investigate the case.
