Bentley unveils all-new grand tourer Mulsanne at the Pebble Beach stage!

Bentley Motors

The past weekend saw Bentley Motors unveiling its all-new flagship grand tourer, Mulsanne, at the renowned Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance. The introduction of the new car was extraordinary in the sense that the new car was displayed on the main stage, which is typically reserved for the Concours D'Elegance winner!

However, the unusual debut befitted Bentley's new flagship - the muscular yet classic, 'top-of-the-range' stunning super sedan - which will reportedly be powered by a huge V8 engine. Inspired by its 'ancestor' - company founder W. O. Bentley's eye-catching 1930 Bentley 8-litre model - the new Mulsanne would hit the markets in mid-2010, will be sold as a 2011 model.

According to Bentley, the maker of 'ultra-luxe' sports cars, the new Mulsanne has totally redesigned its 6.75-litre V8 to offer "an engine that offers the effortless wave of torque for which Bentley is renowned - power and performance whenever the driver demands it." The car also features new circular LED daytime running lights and a lower, sportier chassis.

Bentley said that the new Mulsanne - envisioned, styled and engineered at Bentley's headquarters in Crewe, England - comes with "Bentley's iconic 'Winged B' emblem that underlines the company's racing pedigree and nowhere reflects that heritage better than the famed Le Mans circuit…Few places offer a stronger or more emotive connection with the Bentley marque than the famed Mulsanne corner."
