Apple’s new iPod Touch likely at Sept 9 event; speculations galore about other announcements!

Apple, which has customarily used its annual media event in September to unveil new iPods, is likely to continue with the tradition this time round too - at its special event scheduled for September 9! The iPods, which have become smaller, yet more powerful, over the years, may soon have an addition to their lineup - with a version of iPod Touch likely to be unveiled at the Apple event.

With the details of the next-generation iPod Touch being leaked months back, the device expectedly would feature a camera, basic video editing software, increased storage capacity, and a microphone that would easily convert the device into a Wi-Fi phone. It would essentially be similar in shape and size to the current series of iPods, with the same screen resolution.

Though Apple has not made any official disclosures about the release of any new products at its "invitation-only" event in San Francisco on Wednesday, rumor-mills have been abuzz with 'wish-list' items expected by countless bloggers and Apple fans.

There are speculations galore with regard to the announcements of the much-rumored Apple tablet device; iTunes 9, for easier software management of iPod Touch; a bigger hard drive on an updated iPod classic; Beatles' music on iTunes; and a 'lighter' Apple laptop line!

While some of these speculations appear to be rather far-fetched, they might just turn out to be true -- who knows!
