EWS Launches New Radiation Standards for Mobiles

Environmental Working Group's (EWG), a US consumer watchdog, has carried out a research for finding the effect of radiations from mobiles on human health. The research establishes that some mobiles emit high intensity cancer causing radiations while others have lower intensity level.

Olga Naidenko, EWG Senior Scientist and lead author of the study said, "We would like to be able to say that cell phones are safe. But we can't. In the meantime, consumers can take steps to reduce exposure."

Ms. Naidenko added that radiations cause serious effect to brain and salivary gland tumor is a common problem in people who are using cell phones since a long time.

The online list of mobile phone radiation emissions, prepared using technical data provided by various manufacturers, will be soon made available, informing people about the mobile they should buy.

She took manufactures, not providing emissions levels on labels or in-store advertising displays, heavy handed and said that the move will cover the gap for making justifiable decision to buy mobile handset from the market.

The list of highest radiation phones includes Motorola MOTO VU204, T-Mobile myTouch 3G, Kyocera Jax S1300, Blackberry Curve 8330, Motorola C290 and selected products of different companies.
