New iPhone and BlackBerry apps were launched Tuesday by Yahoo, for Yahoo Finance and Fantasy Football, in addition to a new iPhone Flickr app.
The apps, apart from being available for iPhone and iPod Touch users, can also be availed by those having BlackBerry Bold, Tour, or 8900 series smartphones.
Via the Yahoo Finance app, the users can follow market trends, observe market activity of some company, read news stories, study a personalized portfolio, get currency conversions, and watch streaming video from Tech Ticker.
The fantasy football app allows the users to add or drop players; view matchups, standings, player and team stats; acquire live scoring; and get news and expert advice already available on the PC.
Both apps are available in the U. S. and Canada.
"The Flickr app, meanwhile, is open to iPhone and iPod touch users. It lets users upload and geo-tag photos, share photos via e-mail, search photos from the Flickr community, see recent photos from your contacts, and make comments on favorite photos," said a source.
The users can avail the new Flickr app in English, French and traditional Chinese for the U. S., Canada, UK, France, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
