Restaurant Brands, the operator of Pizza Hut, KFC and Starbucks, has been doing well despite recession-like conditions prevailing in the market. Overall sales of the company rose 4.8 per cent to $96.9 million in the second quarter, against its same period last year figures.
KFC and Pizza Hut registered same-store sales growth in the reporting quarter. However, Starbucks Coffee did not performed well and posted decline of 5 percent to $8.8m in sales on a same-store basis, according to a statement released by Restaurant Brands.
The company has also announced its decision to introduce more stores by the end of this year, hoping better sales in the coming quarters.
The firm forecast half year profit at around $8.7m last week, but an overwhelming response to the KFC brand and Pizza Hut raised the profit figures which would be visible in the half year results to be posted on October 16.
KFC, having 84 stores, contributed 70 per cent in lifting the company's margin by reporting 7.6 per cent growth in second quarter sales.
Shares of Restaurant Brands closed at $1.23 after touching a year high of $1.25 yesterday.
