Microsoft ‘Pink’ - ‘Chubby-looking’ smartphones targeting the youth!

Microsoft

The not-long-ago published pictures of the two supposed "Pink" smartphones, codenamed 'Turtle' and 'Pure,' from Microsoft revealed two different models of the rather 'chubby-looking' smartphones, which, by no means, can be termed as cool and flashy - the way customers would have wanted them to be!

Referring to the pictures, courtesy Gizmodo, most techies opine that the supposed phones are not only a weak Palm Pre knock-off but also a seemingly non-deliberated move on the part of Microsoft, which would not offer any potential threat to the Apple iPhone.

While one of the two 'Pink' phones does look like a rather pale comparison of the Pre, the other phone appears to be more like a 'normal' smartphone and, in a fleeting glance, might be taken for an HTC or comparable WM-based handset.

Surprisingly, as per reports, both the 'Pink' phones - which aren't actually pink, but only named so - are Microsoft's youth-specific offering, aimed at targeting the same age group in the US where the likes of the Sidekick works fairly well!

Though there have been rumors that Microsoft's 'Pink' phones will feature most of the premium services that can be expected in future Windows Mobile phones - including access to a common Windows Marketplace app store; the Zune subscription/playback music service; and a Zune-branded video service -, there have simply been no confirmations from Microsoft!
