A report released by the Health Advocacy Group has revealed that five different healthcare reform bills, presented by five different US Government committees, have many common points.
The report entitled "The Comprehensive Congressional Health Reform Bills of 2009: A Look at Health Insurance, Delivery System and Financing Provisions" stressed that all five bills include, among others, the following similar goals:
- Look to improve healthcare coverage and build on strong aspects of both public and private systems.
- Come up with new and improved health insurance covers and exchanges.
- Make it mandatory for everyone to get health insurance.
- Improve healthcare quality, while making it more cost effective.
- Make it easier for people afford and sustain insurance and insurance premiums.
- In addition to the above mentioned, many other similar points have been reported.
The report also says that while the provisions are more-or-less similar, the bills do present different ideas on how the reforms should be financed, how costs should be controlled and how coverage should be expanded.
