LG has unveiled its latest smartphone EVE, which is the manufacturer's first Android operating system based mobile phone. The phone, which can be purchased from Rogers Mobile, is being seen as LG's grand entry into the fast growing market for Android based smartphones.
Targeted at social media junkies, the LG EVE, as confirmed by the company, has a special application called the Social Network Services Manager. It integrates all social networking platforms, like Facebook, Twitter and Bebo, of the user in one place.
Attractive features of the EVE include a 3-inch touchscreen offering a resolution of 480 x 320 pixel, 5 line slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, advanced video recording and playback and an accelerometer which is built-in. In addition, the phone offers a convenient email client and a memory which can be expanded to as much as 16GB.
Special Google applications shipping with EVE are Google Search, Google Maps and Google Latitude, among others. Additional applications, purchased from the Android market, can also be loaded.
Without a contract, the LG EVE can be purchased from Rogers at a price of $400.
